Students chose from 12 possible units of work, twice a year, across two semesters of the school year. Students had autonomy over their learning and also approached each unit using a range of mediums to develop skills in different areas of Design such as product, graphic, interior, fashion etc. based upon their choice of project.
HKA Design department based the marking criteria of the rubric from the IB Design cycle with strands outlined to determine the student's proficiency and fluency within the curriculum. The rubrics differ from MYP 1, MYP 3, and MYP 5.
Students complete the Inquire, Develop, and Create steps of the design cycle with a "Design Porfolio". These portfolios reflects how the students researched, explored ideas and create their products as the portfolios attached.
Students require sketching, modelling, CAD and various other technical skills to complete their projects. This tab serves as a starting point to practice the required skills with equipments and tools available within the HKA Design Workshop.
